There is nothing quite like apparel t-shirt design. You can grab a sketch book and embody the thrill of a brand, the expression of the voice of the community through illustration & typography. It may look simple do a t-shirt design but to create simplicity, there is an eloquence in distilling what makes the community tick.
Sometimes I can start with a word map. Craft Beer, California Mexican roots, so-cal fresh. There is a vibe of owning the moment and enjoying your locale, the beach, a roadtrip, exploration. Enjoying pass times, like art, creation, surfing, skateboarding, and the outdoors. Craft beer can get nerdy with unique batches that only a real craft beer connoisseur, not specifically created for the general market.
While I was at Canvas United I had the pleasure of working on a lot of tactics for South Norte Beer. Everything for working on packaging, beer tap design, commercial, and I also pitched some t-shirt designs.
T-SHIRT DESIGNS
Life's A Beach:
There is something to this catch phrase. The beach bum who enjoys a cold one in paradise. Nothing beats not being at work and basking in the sun. Being on an island or shore next to some palm trees, sippin' on some cold cans of beer.
IYKYK:
If you know, you know. South Norte beer is a craft beer, there is a bit of inclusion but also you have to be on the inside to enjoy the culture and guess what? You are invited to enjoy to taste this culture. Part of this culture is to hang ten and catch some tasty waves.
For the Brew Masters:
The tagline says it all. From brew masters to connoisseurs. A nice day of the dead skeleton is holding a craft beer but also a tuft of wheat in the other hand. The tuft of beer represents the quality of organic ingredients that it takes to craft such a beer.
